Products: Abrasives

Aluminium Oxide

Extremely aggressive angular abrasive that gives a matt finish on the surface area. Typically used to frost glass, remove signs of corrosion and coatings.

Bicarbonate of soda

Bicarbonate of soda

A soft abrasive generally used in the automotive industry. It is often used to clean aluminium, stainless steel, brass and copper without affecting the original surface.

Garnet

Garnet is similar to aluminium oxide. It is not as aggressive but less dusty. It is very versatile but limited in particle size options.

Glass Beads

Glass Beads

Generally used on Aluminium and Stainless Steel to polish; remove paint and signs of corrosion. Spherical abrasive that is less aggressive on surfaces than angular abrasives.

Peach Pips / Nut shells

Peach Pips / Nut shells

Like bicarbonate of soda it is used to clean without affection the surface and can be recycled. It has greater kinetic energy to remove heavier coatings, but leaves behind a oily residue.

Plastic Media

Plastic Media

Soft abrasive generally used in the aircraft industry.

Slag

Slag

Similar in shape and function to steel grit, but as it is softer it breaks down a lot quicker. Due to its low cost it is commonly used in environments where recapture is not possible, but key surfaces are required for further coating.

Steel Grit

Steel Grit

Similar to steel shot, but is angular in shape. It is generally used to remove scale and tough coatings leaving behind a key surface for further coating. Because of the cost, it is best used in a contained environment where it can be reused.

Steel Shot

Steel Shot

Like glass beads it is also spherical in shape, but has far more kinetic energy. Used for cleaning steel that does not need a profile for further coating. Unlike expandable abrasives it does not break down as quickly and last a lot more cycles. Because of the cost, it is best used in a contained environment where it can be reused.
