Quality control (QC)
Quality control enforces procedures that ensure that a manufactured product or service meets the requirements of the client. Quality control is essential throughout every phase of surface preparation and coating. Our inspection equipment enables inspectors and control technicians to measure and report technical aspects of a project and its conformance to project specification.
Inspection considerations
Like the project specifications, the coating inspector must make it their responsibility to have a good understanding of the safety data sheets and product data sheets of the specified product. Understanding these documents is vital to avoid any coating defects.
Coating Thickness Gauges
Choose from DeFelsko’s wide range of DFT gauges. This range includes units for all steel substrates, wood, concrete. plastic and more.
Surface Profile Gauges
Variety of surface profile gauges including digital, analogue and replica tape readers.
Environmental Gauges
DeFelsko offers three types of meters to measure environmental conditions: dew point meters, wind speed sensors, and infrared thermometers
Inspection Kits
Defelsko Inspection Kits contain a PosiTector gauge body (Standard or Advanced) with 1 or more probes and accessories in a convenient hard shell carrying case
Pinhole Detectors
DeFelsko offers two types of porosity/pinhole detectors: low voltage (wet sponge tester) and high voltage (spark tester).

Accurately measure gloss, percent reflectance, and haze using the PosiTector GLS digital gloss meter.
Air Leak Testing
Quickly and easily detect air and water leaks in building envelopes and rigid air barrier systems. Ideal for testing penetrations (fasteners, masonry ties, etc.) and continuity of joints and seams in rigid air barrier systems.
