Sandblasting, Spray Painting & Inspection Equipment, Shipped Across Africa
From our base in South Africa, we supply and export machinery to customers across Africa. Whether you’re sandblasting, spray painting, inspecting coatings, or managing a full protective coating ecosystem, we’ll help you find the right equipment for the job.
Why Export With Storm Machinery
A partner on the continent, not just a supplier overseas. Being based in South Africa means shorter shipping routes, more workable time zones, and a team that understands the practical realities of doing business across Africa – not a supplier several time zones and a language barrier away.
- Local expertise, continental reach. We know African import requirements, shipping realities, and how to keep a project moving.
- A straightforward process. From your first enquiry to a confirmed order, we keep things simple – a clear quote and equipment ready for collection. You arrange the transport and export clearance that suit your business.
- Support that doesn’t disappear after the sale. Parts, service guidance, and a team you can actually reach.
- Currency and cost advantages. Shorter shipping distances and, depending on your country, preferential trade terms can make importing from South Africa more cost-effective than sourcing from further afield.
How the Export Process Works
Exporting machinery shouldn’t feel like a black box. Here’s what working with Storm Machinery looks like, from first contact to collection:
- Enquiry. Tell us what you need and which country you’re buying into. We’ll get back to you with next steps quickly.
- Quotation. We put together a formal quote covering the equipment and the estimated lead time until it’s ready for collection.
- Documentation. We supply invoices and supporting documents, and will do our best to accommodate any specific document or packaging requests. The export paperwork itself is arranged on your side (see Documentation & Compliance below).
- Export clearance. Your freight forwarder or clearing agent finalises the export paperwork and clears the equipment for export from South Africa.
- Collection & transport. Your appointed courier or freight forwarder collects the equipment and arranges transport to your destination – we’re on hand to coordinate on our side and assist your transporter if needed.
Please note: Storm Machinery does not deliver equipment or clear it for export. Our sales are Ex Works (EXW), so transport, insurance, export paperwork and customs clearance are arranged by you, the customer, through your own courier, freight forwarder or clearing agent, and customs fees are payable by the customer (details under Documentation & Compliance). We’re glad to answer any questions your transporter has along the way.
We confirm the details of your order in your quotation, so you always know what to expect.

Documentation & Compliance
Your freight forwarder or clearing agent is responsible for the export paperwork and for clearing the equipment for export from South Africa. We’ll supply the invoices and supporting documents they need, and we can assist with a Certificate of Origin. Please tell us when you enquire if you need one, as an additional cost may apply. Import requirements differ between countries and change often, so please let us know which documents you need and how you’d like the equipment packaged, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
Ex Works (EXW): Our export sales are Ex Works. The equipment is made available for collection at our premises, and from that point transport, insurance and import formalities are for the customer’s account. Any insurance or cover for loss or damage in transit is arranged between you and your freight forwarder.
Customs fees and delays: The customer is responsible for all customs duties, taxes and fees charged by the destination country. Storm Machinery cannot be held liable for any delays at customs.
FAQs
Do you arrange shipping or transport?
No – Storm Machinery doesn’t deliver equipment or arrange transport. You appoint your own courier or freight forwarder to collect the equipment and handle export clearance, shipping and customs. Insurance for the shipment is arranged between you and your freight forwarder. We’re happy to liaise with your transporter to make the collection smooth.
Which countries do you export to?
We currently export to countries across Africa – see the full list above. Don’t see your country listed? Get in touch anyway; we may still be able to help.
What documentation do I need to import machinery from South Africa?
This depends on your country and the equipment involved. Your freight forwarder or clearing agent prepares the export paperwork and handles customs clearance, and we supply invoices and supporting documents. We can also assist with a Certificate of Origin – just tell us you need one when you enquire, as an additional cost may apply. Requirements change often between countries, so please tell us which documents you need and how you’d like the equipment packaged, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Who pays customs duties, and what if my shipment is delayed at customs?
Customs duties, taxes and fees are paid by the customer in the destination country. Customs processing is outside our control, so Storm Machinery cannot be held liable for delays at customs.
What equipment do you export?
We supply blast pots and blast cabinets, airless and conventional spray painting equipment, coating inspection equipment, personal protection equipment, abrasives and air treatment units – see our full equipment range above.
How long does an export order typically take?
Our lead time depends on the equipment and availability, and we’ll confirm it in your quotation. Transit time depends on the transport you arrange, and customs processing times in the destination country are outside our control.
Can I get a quote before committing to anything?
Yes – quotations are free and non-binding. You’ll have a clear price and process in hand before deciding anything.
Do you provide support or parts after purchase?
Yes we provide support and parts after purchase. Get in touch with our team and we’ll help with any questions about your equipment or the parts you need.
